I know that some times I start cooking and realize I do not have everything I need. I have compiled a list of things that can be substituted. This list is a work in progress; I will add things as I come across them.

When The Recipe calls for 1 cup Whole Milk you can use……..

  • 1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk and a 1/2 Cup Water

  • 1/4 Cup dried Skim Milk powder, 1 Cup water, and 2 Tablespoons Butter or Oil

  • 1 Cup Slim Milk and 2 Tablespoons Butter or Oil


When The Recipe calls four a Coup of Sour Milk you can use…..

  • 1 Cup Milk and 1 1/2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice or Vinegar

When thickening 1 Teaspoon of Flour = 1/2  Teaspoon Cornstarch
